BTS Octane Power Boost Max Street Legal MMT+ (B-00545)
This is the performance-oriented product in the BTS fuel additive range, and it works differently from the cleaning products above.
BTS Octane Power Boost uses a true MMT-based (methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl) octane-boosting formula combined with a cleaning action called a Dual-Action Formula. The MMT component raises octane by up to 15 points, equivalent to 1.5 octane numbers. The cleaning component removes deposits from injectors, intake valves, and combustion chambers, which lowers the engine’s octane requirement by reducing hot spots and carbon build-up that cause pre-ignition. Together, the combined effect delivers an octane improvement of up to 25 points.
In practical terms, why does this matter? Modern engines use onboard computers to monitor knock and ping, the premature detonation that occurs when fuel ignites before the spark plug fires. When the computer detects knock, it retards ignition timing to protect the engine, which directly reduces power and performance.
