Tectyl® 506-EH is a solvent-based, wax corrosion preventive for vehicle rustproofing, machinery and metal parts during indoor or outdoor storage and domestic or international shipment. It forms a firm, translucent, dark amber wax film. Tectyl® 506-EH and Tectyl® 506 are separate products with their own technical specifications; select the grade against the application and current product data sheet.

Surface Preparation
For best results, the metal surface should be clean, dry and free from rust, oil and mill scale. The substrate temperature should be between 10°C and 35°C when you apply the product.
Application
Tectyl® 506-EH is supplied ready to use.
Ambient and product temperatures should be between 10°C and 35°C during application.
Stir to a homogeneous consistency before use; wax build-up and viscosity changes can occur in storage.
If the product thickens because of cold storage or solvent loss, dilute with no more than 1-2% Tectyl® 150.
Apply by brush or low-pressure air spray.
The TDS specifies low-pressure air spray or brush. Confirm equipment selection and settings with the manufacturer before using an alternative spray method.
Removal
While still wet: Remove with Tectyl® Biocleaner, Tectyl® 150 or low-pressure steam.
After drying and curing: Remove with Tectyl® Biocleaner or Tectyl® 150.
Storage & Shelf Life
Store between 10°C and 35°C.
Do not allow the product to freeze.
Agitate gently before use; viscosity can change during storage.
When stored correctly, the product is best used within 36 months of the production date.
Coating Compatibility
The manufacturer does not recommend applying other coatings over or under Tectyl® 506-EH, because this may cause chemical incompatibility and reduce performance. If you need a primer, please consult our technical team first. Where the TDS requires written authorization from CorPro for a primer, obtain that authorization before use; distributor advice does not replace it.
