Tectyl® 558-AMC is an amber, solvent-cutback, slightly thixotropic, wax-base corrosion preventive with good water-displacing properties, primarily for spray application into enclosed boxes, seams, joints and creviced locations of vehicles. It is also recommended as the primer coat in two-layer systems with solvent-based Tectyl® products, and dries to a dark amber, translucent, waxy, semi-firm, slightly tacky film.

Surface Preparation
For best results, the metal surface should be clean, dry and free from rust, oil and mill scale. The substrate temperature should be between 10°C and 35°C when you apply the product.
Application
Supplied ready to use. Do not thin.
Apply by low-pressure air spray at 10-35°C.
As a primer, allow a short drying period, then spray Tectyl® 120, 120-EH, 121-LV or 122-A over it.
Removal
While still wet: Remove with Tectyl® Biocleaner, Tectyl® 150 or low-pressure steam.
After drying and curing: Remove with Tectyl® Biocleaner or Tectyl® 150.
Storage & Shelf Life
Store between 10°C and 35°C.
Do not allow the product to freeze.
Agitate gently before use; viscosity can change during storage.
When stored correctly, the product is best used within 36 months of the production date.
Coating Compatibility
Applying products underneath is not recommended. Over it, use only the listed Tectyl® underbody coatings.
