Tectyl® 5638W is a water-dispersed, fast-drying sound damping compound that dries by evaporation of water to a black, hard film. It reduces sound and vibration on vehicle parts such as doors, hoods and gear covers, and on ventilation systems, glass and refuse containers, machine constructions and boiler covers. It can be painted over when dry with synthetic resin, epoxy and PVC-based paints.

Surface Preparation
For best results, the metal surface should be clean, dry and free from rust, oil and mill scale. The substrate temperature should be between 10°C and 35°C when you apply the product. Non-galvanised steel and raw aluminium must be protected with an anti-corrosion primer before application.
Application
Supplied ready to use; ensure uniform consistency. Do not thin.
Use a spatula for small areas; for larger areas use a stainless-steel airless spray system.
Apply at 10-35°C.
Removal
While still wet: Remove with (hot) water.
After drying: Remove with ethyl acetate.
Storage & Shelf Life
Store between 10°C and 35°C.
Do not allow the product to freeze.
Best used within 12 months of the production date.
Coating Compatibility
Overpaintable when dry with synthetic resin, epoxy and PVC-based paints. Applying products underneath is not recommended, apart from the required anti-corrosion primer. Where the TDS requires written authorization from CorPro for a primer, obtain that authorization before use; distributor advice does not replace it.
